Who are Garmin?
Founded in 1989 by Gary Burrell and Min Gao (Gar-Min), their GPS technology was first used by the U.S. Army in the Gulf War. Fast forward to 2017 and the company manufacture across a range of industries, from sports and fitness, to marine, aviation and automative.

- Garmin Forerunner – Designed with running in mind. With over 27 Forerunner releases to date, there’s plenty of choice from budget GPS watches, to technical releases with advanced running metrics. Watches for triathletes also fall under this bracket, often denoted by XT in the product name.
- Garmin Vivo series – A product range for everyday lifestyle tracking. These devices focus on step count, intensity minutes and quality of sleep. Ranging from simple step counters like the Vivofit to multi-sport watches like the Vivoactive HR.
- Edge – Made for Cyclists, Edge devices are GPS computers which attach to your bike frame. From the no-frills Edge 20 to the advanced Edge 820, these Garmin’s are great for getting instant feedback on your speed and distance whilst powering through on your bike.
